Happy Friday Everyone!

Wow! Summer is flying by faster than I can grasp! As you gear up for school registration and the yearly school shopping excursion, don't forget about your scrapbooks! I know...it's August and you can't think about scrapbooking right now! But you really should! Especially if you have a child who will be graduating this year and want to have the ever so popular "scrapbook to display" at the party!

Do yourself a favor and don't wait until April to try and scrapbook the last 12 years of school photos and memorabilia! If you start now and work at a steady pace, you'll have your scrapbook finished and ready to display in May! Making Memories will even give you an incentive to get started now! Learn to Scrapbook: Mon, Aug 10th 6:30pm. Learn the basic tools and techniques and get started on capturing your memories today! Class fee: $10 plus supplies.

Cricut Expression Class: Wed, Aug 12th 6pm-9pm. Master your Cricut Expression machine and learn how to use all those buttons! We'll teach you lots of tips & tricks! Class fee: $20

Kids Scrapbook Class: Sat, Aug 15th 10am-11am. Your child will learn how to scrapbook from our "young expert" Sidney! She (or he) (ages 6 to 12 years) will create an 8 1/2x11 birthday layout using their own birthday photos. Class fee: $8

Scrappers Club: Tues, Aug 18th 7pm. If you're wanting to learn more about scrapbooking, cardmaking or papercrafting and want to join a fun group that meets once a month, check out our club! You'll make new friends, learn new techniques and discover new products & tools! This club requires a 3 month committment and is only $15 per month!!

Shutter & Tri-Fold Cards with Mary: Thurs, Aug 20th 6:30pm. Mary will teach you how to make these two fun and unique cards! You'll create two of each style cards during this class. Class fee: $15 (Photo below)

Cricut Design Studio: Mon, Aug 24th 6:30pm. Learn how to utilize your Design Studio software and get the most out of your investment! You'll learn how to weld letters and images, manipulate your images to get the best possible looking results, maximize your cutable area thus saving paper, and so much more! Class fee: $15

Creative Cards Workshop with Alyssa: Wed, Aug 26th 6:30pm. Create five beautiful cards for several different occasions during this fun class! You'll learn about new products, techniques & meet new friends! Class fee: $15

If you need some time away to get your scrapbooking or cardmaking done, join us for one of our crops this August! We recently lowered our crop fee to $5 for Friday nights from 6pm to 11pm to make it more affordable for you! That will give you more spending money for your scrapbooking goodies! You're welcome to bring your own drink and a snack and get alot of work done, without all the interruptions! Reservations are required. Call us to reserve your space, 618-281-1991. Friday crops will be held on Friday, August 14th and Friday, August 28th from 6pm to 11pm.

If you need some serious cropping time, join Making Memories at the "Life's A Beach" benefit crop hosted by Family Hospice at Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) in Belleville Illinois on Saturday, August 29th from 9am to 9pm. The cost if $40 and includes lunch, dinner, drinks, goodie bag and one raffle ticket! We had so much fun being a vendor at the last one & we know you will too! Plus, it's a great cause! Stop by Making Memories for a registration form for your last cropping hoorah of the summer!

Our 12x12 digital photo prints are still on sale for only $3.99, but only for a limited time, so don't wait & miss the boat! We can print from your digital camera card, flash drive, CD, or scan your favorite photo, negative or slide! Come see our samples! They are beautiful!

Join Making Memories Scrapbook Store for some cropping fun and a chance to help raise money for a great cause! Come to the "Life's a Beach Scrapbooking Crop" to benefit the Heartlinks Grief Center. This crop will be held on Saturday, August 29th from 9am to 9pm at Southwestern Illinois College. We'll have a booth for your shopping pleasure!

The cost for this crop is only $40 (register before July 29th and receive a $5 discount). Registration includes 1/2 of an 8 ft table, lunch, dinner, drinks, goodie bag and 1 raffle ticket. Gather a group of your friends for a great day of cropping and help a fantastic organization in the meantime. Thanks to all of you who participated in the CASA benefit crop! CASA raised $800 thanks to your support! We'd like to thank Hope Christian Church for donating their beautiful building! Crop-N-Time: Friday, July 10th 6pm-12mn Have a great time and get alot done! We provide the snacks and drinks! Crop fee: $10



CASA Benefit Crop: Saturday, July 11th 9am-9pm There is still space available to have a great day of cropping & getting alot done! Crop fee is $35 and includes lunch, dinner, snacks & drinks. Raffles and vendors will be available. This is a great cause to help abused and neglected children. Call 314-615-4403 to register over the phone or pick up a registration form at Making Memories.



Kids Scrapbook Class: Wednesday, July 15th from 10am-11:30am. This class is for kids ages 6-12 years and will be taught by a kid! Sidney who is now 12, has been scrapbooking since she was 5 and is a great teacher! Adults and kids love her! Sign your child up for this fun birthday layout and let them fill their summer days with a creative and fun hobby! Class fee: $8

Scrapbook Addicts Club Meeting (formerly Not Your Ordinary Book Club): Tuesday, July 21st at 7pm. Join our club and learn new techniques, ideas, new products and tools. Club fee is $15 per month and requires a 3 month commitment. We always meet the 3rd Tuesday of the month.



Cards That'll Make Your Head Spin with Mary: Thursday, July 23rd at 6:30. Mary will teach you how to make these fun cards with a "spinning element" to wow your family & friends! Class fee: $15

July is here & summer is in full swing! If you're preparing for your typical 4th of July festivities, don't forget to charge the camera batteries (don't forget the spare) and scout out some great places for photo ops. Choose a backdrop like a shady, woodsy area, or a picnic table with fun table decorations. If you're going to a pool party or picnic, take photos of the pool toys, noodles, beach towels, fresh fruit platters, potato salad, grill, etc. If you're going to check out the fireworks, make sure you have a tripod & read up on taking nighttime photos in your camera manual to get the best results. Bring in your camera card or CD and let Making Memories print your favorite photos in 6x6, 8x8 or 12x12 for your own custom backgrounds! They make awesome layouts or are great for framing!
